Kru Ryan James

Owner/Head Instructor

Kru Ryan James is a certified Kru under Ajahn Suchart, as well as through the Sport Authority of Thailand and the Nai Khanom Tom association. He also is an avid competitor in Muay Thai, and had the honour of competing for the 2017 Canadian National Muay Thai team in Belarus and in Mexico City.
With an educational background in Philosophy and an avid passion for human development, his approach to teaching and training are geared towards improving not just the physical, but the human behind the technique.
More than just a Muay Thai instructor, Kru Ryan believes in giving back to the community and is involved in various programs within Richmond Hill and the GTA that are geared towards building self-esteem and physical health.

QUALIFICATIONS: Over 10 Years Muay Thai Experience Certified Kru under the Sport Authority of Thailand.

Coach Kim Banjac

Kim Banjac

Instructor

With over 15 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Kim brings leadership, skill, and competitive grit to the Richmond Hill Muay Thai (RHMT) team. As the gym’s General Manager and one of its Muay Thai instructors, she plays a central role in shaping both the day-to-day operations and the high-performance culture of the gym.

A dedicated martial artist, Kim is an active Muay Thai competitor with an impressive track record:

  • Two-time Canadian National Champion (2019, 2024 – Muay Thai Canada)
  • 2025 WAKO Canada National Gold Medalist, K1
  • 2024 WAKO Ontario Provincial Gold Medalist

Kim leads with a student-first mindset, focusing on technical development, discipline, and personal growth. Whether she’s coaching beginners in their first class or cornering fighters on competition day, Kim brings precision, passion, and a commitment to excellence.

Anand Odhina

Instructor

Anand is a practitioner and active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, currently holding the rank of brown belt.
He began his journey of martial arts through traditional striking as a kid, but grew to love grappling as an adult.
His health and fitness have greatly benefitted from training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and he is passionate about sharing this art and culture with students.
Outside of training, Anand is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and a longtime yoga instructor.

Jen combines her expertise in martial arts with high-energy physical training to ensure every session is as effective and enjoyable as possible.
Her classes are designed for both experienced and novices alike, as she specializes in customizing classes to suit each person’s individual needs.

At Richmond Hill Muay Thai, we use high-quality equipment to ensure safe, effective, and authentic training experiences for all members. Our Muay Thai training area features Twins Muay Thai pads, top-of-the-line heavy bags, and other essential striking gear to support technique, power, and conditioning work. In addition to combat training, we offer a fully equipped strength and conditioning section that members can access to build overall fitness, strength, and endurance. This area includes kettlebells, dumbbells, a squat rack, medicine balls, resistance bands, and bosu balls for functional movement training. For cardio and performance conditioning, members can make use of our Rogue assault bike, rowing machine, and treadmill. Whether you’re training to compete, get stronger, or improve your fitness, our equipment supports a wide range of athletic goals and experience levels.
